Fridays are the favorite day of the week in Child Development. Students get the opportunity to be a buddy for LHS's adaptive physical education class. Buddies help and encourage students to participate in whatever sport/skill they are learning that day. We've thrown footballs, served for beach volleyball and today practiced scootering. Both buddies and adaptive P.E. students look forward to Fridays and talk about it during the week. Students who often miss (this teacher suspects skipping....) will dilligently make it to class on Fridays purely for this reason. Students are learning how to communicate with others who are different than them, they are gaining first hand experiental learning that will benefit them outside the classroom. When students see each other outside of class they smile and high five. Kids have only known each other for a month but already the relationships they have built will leave a lasting and positive impression for life. I am so proud of this group of students and the positive culture they have created.
Sincerely,
Ms. Rogness
